Gif picture        Nick Winograd and I spent the 1977/78 academic year at UC Berkeley where we intiated our collaboration with the late Don E. Harrison, Jr. We made our first movies at LBL with the help of William Johnston. The spheres were drawn as a series of great circles. Each frame was drawn directly on 16 mm movie film at the lab. The initial version of the movie contained a general sequence of sputtering and the pentamer mechanism. Over the next few years we added movies of molecular and fragmented ejection of CO along with NiCO formation, the angle resolved dimer and the ejection of molecular benzene. The last of these sequences was made about 1980. See the references given below for further details about the science.
